What If?

Out of the blue, I applied for a job in Nigeria and I've been wondering what if ever since. What if I get the job? What next? It's something I would totally LOVE to do but my life would take a 360 turn hopefully for the better but then again, it could be for the worse. What do I know about living in Naija after having been gone for so long? What would it be like? Where would my future kid go to school? Would I have to go to the market - ew. Would life be more fun with family and friends? Where would I live? Can't really live with the folks and we don't have a place of our own in Naija. Wait, wait, DH is NOT in Naija. I'm assuming he would move at some point. This is still me in the la-la stage. I haven't heard back from them but would LOVE, love, love to get that job. It sounds like a great opportunity. This is verrrrry forward of me but hey, sometimes I like to dream.

I HAVE A FEAR OF FEELING COMFY AFTER BEING AWAY FROM HOME TOO, BUT THE FULLNESS OF LIFE IS ACTUALLY BETTER THERE IN MY OPINION. GOOD LUCK I AM CONTEMPLATING MOVING HOME SOON TOO, WE WILL SEE, I AM PRAYING AND LOOKING TO GOD FOR HIS GUIDIANCE.

I am looking forward to and also dreading going back to Naija after my Masters. There are many positives but there are more negatives-the level of crime is my greatest fear.By and large i am excited by the prospect of moving back home

I think what I would be worried about more is the lack of security. This scares me a whole lot more than going to the market, NEPA/PHCN's non-performance, lack of fuel, etc. When we were much younger my father was shot by armed robbers, he is okay - still living in the house he was shot at - but I think we were all psychologically scarred after that and knowing that over two decades after that it is not any better...that is pretty worrisome.

I have been on a job search for months now. It is not that easy(in my experience to get jobs in naija) I acctually have a friend that packed up from Boston and went to lagos to search for work there...... I do not have liver like her so I keep doing my internet searches and keeping my bum in NYC.
