Do you know what you're having?

That's a commonly asked question of expectant mothers. I get asked this at least five times a day. At least. At the very minimum. Everywhere I go, people want to know. Yesterday, I had a pregnancy massage scheduled and the masseur wanted to know, the receptionist also asked. After that, I went to get my brows waxed and my nails done. The waxeuse/esthetician wanted to know. Funnily enough, before asking what I'm having, she asked if I was pregnant. Okay, like my 40-inch waistline is due to gas or something. LOL. Anyway, after I was done with my brows, I moved on to the nail section and the nail tech also wanted to know. When I was done with that, I went to VS to get yet another bra. So much for my ever-growing poitrine. The lady in the dressing room wanted to know. I went to a couple more places and all the people I interacted with wanted to know: Is it a boy? Is it a girl?

IT'S A SURPRISE - We are not finding out.

I guess everyone wants to find out! If people ask me what I'm having, I would say a healthy baby! :) I sooooo want to have a baby, I hope and pray it happens soon. Congrats!!!!

Nice blog. I had to find out all 3 times....totally impatient. Am also quite nosy and not knowing would have been so difficult. Is this your first? I need to read past entries incase it's already been answered.

Congrats! I also had a preggy massage and it was sooooo relaxing. God bless.

We also did not find out although my hubby kept saying it was a girl and he was right! I think my pet peeve was when people would ask for the names you had picked out...like it was something that you would want to share off the bat. I had an over-inquisitive aunt ask me multiple times what the baby's name was - mind you she asked what we were having and I told her we did not know but for some odd reason, she convinced her self that it was a boy - ok good luck to you but her weekly calls with boy name suggestions really began to get on my nerves to the point I told her in the sweetest voice I could muster that if it was a boy we would name him Hidalgo. I don't know where that came from possibly a combination of pg hormones and the fact that the movie was in the cinemas at the time I was pg. She stopped calling as frequently and I could breath easily. Belly rubs to you

Many congratulations, Gbemi. I have been reading your blog for ages and it just dawned on me that you were pregnant. Must do a test myself, my brain cells have gone to pot! It is now official, I am broody! God help me. All your fault. Well you and the ticking body clock and Lopes insistence that she wants a little brother. Deep breath.

Moi - I like that.
People: "What are you having?"
Me: "A healthy baby!"
I pray it happens soon for you. Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way!

Anon - Thanks. This is my first baby. That preggie massage was soooo gooooood. I'll have to go back in another week or so.

Jola - People are so nosy aren't they? I've had people ask if it was planned, names (which I don't mind nearly as much but how is it their business anyway?). You handled your aunt pretty well. Glad to hear she took the hint and stopped calling as much.

Kemi - Thanks! Sounds like Lopes is about to have a little brother or sister.

Finally!!! Someone who wants to keep it as a surprise. That's the best way to go...the anticapation of the dr. saying, "it's a....." is pure priceless.
I wish I was pampered like that with all my pregnancies.
